Acupuncture treatments have been proven to remedy many different diseases for thousands of years. There are approximately 2,000 different acupuncture points that lie along the body’s meridians. Acupuncture stimulates these points with fine, sterile, needles to relieve the blockage in the flow of energy, enabling the body to heal. When the vital energy of our body does not flow properly, illness or pain can occur. Once balance is restored, healing can take place. By restoring this, acupuncture can help to treat and prevent disease of mind, body, and spirit. It can be used to treat a wide range of common ailments, promote general health, and relieve pain.
Common Questions about Acupuncture
I get a lot of questions about Acupuncture Treatment at my clinic here in Denver. So, I wanted to answer a few of common questions about acupuncture below. If you have any other questions, feel free to give us a call. We’re happy to walk you through the process. Our goal is to make our patients feel comfortable with their acupuncture treatment.
How big are the needles?
The needles used at Healing Vibes for acupuncture are smaller than you would think! These needles are not hollow like the ones we see at Western Doctor’s offices. They are similar to the size of a strand of hair, very small.
How often do I need to get acupuncture?
Frequency of treatments all depends on the case. Everyone is different, and everyones body responds to acupuncture at different paces. Chronic illnesses are recommended to receive acupuncture longer than acute cases. Depending on what you are being treated for, it could be recommended to receive weekly, or monthly treatments. We provide free consultations where details of this can be answered.
Does acupuncture hurt?
Most people gain a pleasant “acu-high” from acupuncture treatments. Many of the needles are actually not felt at all. Their are different sensations from the acupuncture needles in different parts of the body. We our committed to making sure you are completely comfortable during your treatments, and accommodate all of your needs. If you feel you are highly sensitive, let your acupuncturist know and they will make sure you are feeling good throughout your treatment.
Can acupuncture be used for general health maintenance?
Yes. Acupuncture works great for treating many illnesses, however, it is also greatly used for maintaining health and preventing illness. It is highly recommended to receive “maintenance” or “tune-up” treatments to make sure your body stays in balance at any time during the year. This is a great way to prevent illnesses from happening.
Can I combine acupuncture with other treatments?
In majority of cases, acupuncture works great with other treatments, however, this could depend on the case. For instance, acupuncture increases the outcome when used with massage, chiropractic care, nutrition, herbal medicine, physical therapy, pre and post operative care, and many other treatment options.
